Thanks for the tip but I went ahead and unsubscribed so I don't feel bombarded in my general feed. I still love this community very much and I will still learn from a distance. I hope to re-join once the lvm content lessens.

This was suggested in another thread--could we have a specific post or weekly showcase of LVM/NVM/ZVM content? I love this community. I've reached a point where I don't have much, if any, LVM shit in my life. However, the flood of LVM/NVM/ZVM content on this sub is getting overwhelming for me. I don't want to tone police, but I think there is a potential compromise here. I came to this sub to learn. If I want to wallow in the worst of mankind, I can go to r/trashy...

I have a lot of male friends and I think this post is spot on!! Its not easy to have real friends of the opposite gender, because it involves very healthy strong boundaries. For example, when one of my guy-friends has a gf or wife, I expect to not hang out or hear from them until there is a group hangout, a wedding, or other events like that. Because that is how guys treat each other, and their partner should be prioritized.

Omg yes. Commented on this one advice post where the girl basically described getting date raped by her boss (they partied, they had sex, but she has no memory of the night). OP and other commenters were very pissed when I pointed out how dangerous that situation sounded. Although this can be disheartening, it's a good reminder that not everyone is ready to look at the harsh reality. And that is okay, because I can go back to playing with my digimon.

Step 1 - get rid of these "male friends" comparing you. They are not your friends. I have a lot of friends who are men and they would never say something like that to me, because we are FRIENDS. Real friends lift you up, not tear you down. Also a good way to vet male friends--they should treat you like their other male friends and have healthy relationships with other women.

Yessss!!! Thank you for this post. IMO anyone sending you hate is showing low value. Mods, please hear our plea! This sub is becoming like a LVM--evergy draining and not helpful. I support a weekly thread for this LVM/NVM showcase, as I cannot handle being bombarded with their stories EVERY DAY.

Just block them. Any attention or response is positive reinforcement for these kind of people.

"People see some men and think that we're confident." LOL!! Who are these "people"?? It is very rare that I see a random dude and think that he looks confident. Delusion/entitlement is a far cry from real confidence.

Thank you for sharing this!! It made me think if another HVM story: One of my Uncles is a great example of a HVM. In his lifetime he... -Lovingly nursed his first wife when she was dying of cancer. Cooked super healthy for her and waited on her hand and foot. Had a positive attitude the whole time and never complained, even when it got rough. -Still takes care of her family to this day, even though she died a long time ago. -Used her old diary to write a book about her to immortalize her activis…

Yo it's hard to face the truth but you can also feel thankful that your intuition is watching out for you. Trust yourself <3 sending strength~~

He is trying to hurt you by "throwing shade". This is why it's always good to be the first to block. Any attention is a win for them.

Having friends that can give you advice is a really great asset. I suggest making friends with colleagues or people you volunteer with, or make friends with someone older (and wise).

I like to tease dudes and tell them that they are the "hormonal" ones. Testosterone makes men more volatile.

I used to love Anime, but I feel the same way. You should watch/read Dorohedoro. The artwork/story is excellent, its written by a woman and has really badass female characters. It subverts most anime tropes.

I needed to read this today. I love this sub, but I was actually thinking of unsubscribing because there has been a steady, if not overwhelming, flow of NVM or ZVM content. I want to learn how to be a ruthless strategist, not wallow in the worst of mankind. I'm glad people are feeling safe to vent but damn... Anyway, thanks for the post! Have an awesome weekend <3

It's cringey because it's insincere. We expect to see bad acting in a D list movie, not in real life.

Just sell it. Use the extra cash to go shopping. That's what I did with my ex's [never been worn] sneakers. Or donate it and get some IRL karma. I used to work at a youth center that would have loved another deck and more records. Sending love~

I used to have a lot of guy friends and imo there are lots of respectful guys out there (my friends never talked like this). But if there is even ONE guy in the friend group saying shit like this, the whole group is trash.

You can love someone but withhold your energy. You could tell her that you care about her, but that you don't want to be her sounding board. You can still be her friend and spend time with her, but with added boundaries (no love drama venting). Having strong boundaries will reveal who your real friends are. Real friends care.

Keep it short and firm. There has to be no room for negotiation. Example: "This relationship isn't working for me. I'm done. Please don't contact me again." You don't owe him an explanation/justification. If you need to use: "I do not love you. This is over. Do not speak to me ever again." This is notice of leave NOT a discussion or negotiation. Do it in a way that you can physically leave in a safe way. This is SO important. Manipulative people will do anything they can to make you stay. This i…

Nice "friend" you have there... You already said you weren't interested, so I don't understand why she would go out of her way to tell you this guy's judgmental thoughts. And this was only 1 of the three red flags (listed below): (1) I don’t feel like I’m in a good place do date right now, which she blankly ignores. (2) Later that day, she sends me a voicemail. She states that unfortunately, said guy would never date a girl who is not a virgin, so I would not be a good fit for him. (3) And the w…

This is so important! Even if your dad is just a LVM it will have the same consequences. My dad, although I love him, is an LVM, and my siblings and I have struggled with him because he acts more like a "cool Uncle" and has never taken the full responsibility of a father. Also it took so long to realize that I was dating different (often even shittier) versions of him. It's all I knew... I wish I had this site when I was younger, but it's never too late!

Don't listen to her. 2 months prep is a far cry for hoarding. Good on you for keeping your family safe. This virus is like the wind and the only thing we can do is be personally responsible.

I'm still an FDS noob, but I dont think an HVM would hook up with girls at work... and since his ex works with him too, he sounds messy... Glad you walked away!
