Toxic femininity is a manosphere term used as a counterpart to "toxic masculinity," describing behaviors attributed to women that are seen as harmful, manipulative, or exploitative of gender double standards. Cited examples include reframing a partner's infidelity or mistreatment as victimhood after the fact, or leaning on social and legal advantages to escape accountability. The term is used mostly polemically, in direct response to feminist criticism of "toxic masculinity," rather than as an academic concept.
