Immediately. After all a modern day medieval would have technology to the rich and capable and none to the poor. So no work as a noble women but everything by hand for a peasant wife. Haha. But men die in the end though.

How quickly would women be clamoring for "traditional gender roles", if we were living in a medieval type society?

If we were living in that kind of society, the idea of Feminism wouldn't even cross anyone mind, at all, because it would sound so stupid.

So of course, every women would go for traditional gender roles.

They would turn the situation around incrementally as they have been doing since the dawn of history. Damsels in distress would seduce their men to part time their work. They would use their pivotal trump card (i.e., children) to fortify men combustine engines, merely enough for unleashing the provider role.

It's all the same. They have always been the same. They are as whorish as society allows them to be. And I think we are pretty close to max. And JD Unwin's thesis will have yet another dead civilisation in the record.

Doesn't even have to be a "medieval" society -- just about any & all non-affluent societies.

That is both the past (pre-modern/pre-industrial) as well as the future (post-modern/post-industrial... i.e. post-socialist) norm.
