Well damn, if nobody is going to comment... Yes, psychedelics can be a nice, rewarding, awakening moment for yourself. But bad trips do happen, and some people don't react to them like most people do either. You should take a modest dose for your first time, ideally in a comfortable setting you are familiar with. Also ideally confirm the legitimacy of everything you consume, by at least getting someone who is a "seasoned vet" to test it out first.
Also in case you start to have a bad trip, most nerve pills (Xanax/valium) will take the edge off, OR start drinking an alcoholic beverage. Alcohol being a sedative, it will eventually win.
A note on ecstasy/molly/MDMA: Some people are missing a certain enzyme in their liver (myself included) that makes you metabolize it differently than most people, and you are more likely to overdose, or at least make you sick. If you know this, it's fine, b/c you can take half a pill, and give away the other half (hey gurl ;) and have a blast. It's just learning that lesson the hard way, puking your guts out isn't pleasant. If it's your first time, only take half just in case.
You can always take more of a drug, but you can never really untake a drug.
Edit: And to the smart ass that says, "Well what if you throw it back up..." Yes, I know that happens, have snorted coke that a buddy threw up, (and washed off) after he swallowed the bag with the police man beside him. That doesn't count as un-taking:D
