Note the phrasing. It was a major hassle for an immigrant worker to be accused of attempting to kidnap a child. The mother could be liable to prosecution if it is determined she maliciously falsified a statement that a man attempted to kidnap her child and the she drew a gun on him and scared him off. The prosecutor said he was uncertain of what was going to happen.

Major hassle ? To be locked up for a long time on a child abduction charge because we all know how fellow prisoners feel about child molesters!

Woman states man attempts kidnap she draws gun. This changes to man pats child on head, man.... I have never seen woman or child. Can anyone think of a scenario where this false accusation would not be found to be malicious??
