I honestly think the bullshit the feminists are trying to pull will stop having any effect once the Boomers die and stop passing ridiculous legislation in their favor. The rest of the population has, by and large, already woke up to their bullshit. Especially with how far to the right today’s young people are. That said, I think there’s already been enough shit to stop most smart people from marrying and having children for a good while.

Peak oil. National debt. Only women and Simps think it’s not going to implode like a Mouse Utopia. It’s just economics and population dynamics in the most basic sense. We are far over Earth’s carrying capacity.

I think the probability of a child born in a US city today having to suffer through the Collapse is very high, perhaps as high as 70-80%. I don’t think everyone will die, just most people, from starvation, dehydration, and street violence.

Yes, we might not have as many exotic food stuff or the latest and greatest tech, heck maybe not even hot water constantly or electricity 24/7. And that's fine I think. Or maybe I'm just too much into the frugal thing/meditation/being grateful for what you have, but we really don't need much to live imo.

Well, if you don't have electricity 24x7, chances are you not only don't have hot water, but given the design of nearly all of western infrastucture, you very likely won't even have WATER (on tap, pressurized, etc). And "no water on tap" generally means no* "indoor plumbing" including toilets for much of the population. (Most of you youngun's don't realize but "electrification" of [rural] farms -- i.e. the full "grid" -- is what finally allowed farm houses to get rid of the "privy/outhouse"... and we're talking 1930's, 1940's, 1950's.)

Lose indoor plumbing -- and proper sewage/septic systems, treatment plants, etc -- and you now have a (literal) "shithole" society... raw sewage dumped into rivers & lakes again, people shitting and pissing everywhere...

That means the likely return of a whole array of diseases (add in antibiotic resistant strains...)

Then of course there are OTHER things that 24x7 electricity bring: like Thermostatically controlled Heating & Cooling, and likewise -- but vastly more important -- Refrigeration which is another thing that enables large dense city populations.

And that doesn't just mean loss of "exotic foods" -- it means the likely loss of a LOT of "basic" foods; it means only having available what is grown/raised locally, or else can be stored long term (and thus transported from distant locales) by means OTHER than freezing or refrigeration -- and that (most likely) starvation or at least really poor diet/nutrition for many (especially children).

Basic thing is that civilizations DON'T "slowly degrade" on an incline that is the same (but inverse) slope as the prior upward progress; the decline tends to be "punctuated" collapse. (To wit, right now -- in western countries anyway -- you probably give little to no thought about how a river is a"barrier" to both travel and commerce/distribution of goods. Why? Because you have solid bridges everywhere, so many bridges in fact that you not only take their existence for granted,but (unless they're "under construction" or "repair") you probably don't even notice 90% of them even exist as you drive over them -- after all, they only cross some "trivial" canal or river, some 10 ft or 20 foot or even just 50 foot across... so, *yawn* "big deal/who cares" right?

OK, what happens when those bridges fail. How you gonna get across? How is FOOD and other supplies going to get across? (Oh, I see, you'll just FLY over it, and FLY or FLOAT all of your supplies across... riiiight, sure you will.)

Or you (or someone else) will just "fix/replace" the bridge, amiright? What if the "someone else" doesn't? Do you have the skills, knowledge, materials to build a bridge that will REALLY carry all the traffic you need it to? (Riiiight, sure you do. You haven't figured out how to have "hot water" on tap, but you & your mates are gonna fix/replace a bridge.)

ETC... etc... etc.

But hey... no biggie, maybe the AI-based ROBOTS will just do it for you.

* Yes it is possible to have plumbing & sewage systems (even rural ones) without electric pumps & pressure systems. But that either requires some (relatively rare) "Artesian" pressure well/water supply, or other "power" based systems (which tend to be more problematic) to pump water UP (so that gravity creates the pressure/flow) or else to pressurize a system. (Among other things, the heights of "high rise buildings" were historically limited to a few stories tall -- no medieval skyscrapers -- because of the problem of pumping water that far up; electricity makes it easy: no electricity = no high-rises = much lower density populations in cities = much lower population overall.)

I'm a live in the moment type of dude, although I definitely pay attention to my surroundings, I don't presume to know the future outside what I have a direct hand in, i.e. my life. If a collapse comes, I'll deal with when it comes. Until then, I'll keep working on robotics and bionics. I'm down for a cyberpunk/Deus Ex future though!

Honestly I wouldn't care if the govt. sort of made gas available only for commerical use for huge industries I wouldn't care that much I already walk/use public transport everywhere. I do wish that there is an immediate stop on Illegal immigration as someone who immigrated legally it seems so unfair that they allow that bullshit. Fortunately noone is buying the liberal bullshit anymore and people are waking up ,hopefully we can get a permanent solution for the illegals and deport majority of them so we can focus on actual problems like climate change . Replacing machines with high pollution levels to ones that don't create pollution and so on.

The only reason we have gotten to the current carrying capacity is easily acquired energy. Energy that has allowed us grow exponentially. EROEI. This is something that must be taken seriously. We are not as efficient as acquiring dense energy sources as before. We will approach limits of growth soon. We are currently business as usual in regards to growth, industry, consumption, C02 emissions etc. We will hit a point of degrowth (which I believe we are slowly entering) and that will lead to either a sudden or slow collapse. AI and tech cannot and will not fix this. I REPEAT, it won't. Techs that will 'save' us, generally have externalities that no one wants to acknowledge.

That doesn't mean lose hope. But we should be genuine about the state of the world in order to better prepare for the future.

I am not pessimistic, every decade has hardships, and one day feminism will die off and a new problem will arise, like war, or religious zealots. Feminism is just a mistake that we will live through and hopefully never try again
