I work with a former shop teacher. He was 50% to his pension. He said he was a glorified baby sitter . He spent more time dealing with problem kids than teaching. He is now my maintaince supervisor. He is a good man so the problem wasn't on his end.

I'm a teacher. And I teach abroad, too, in Asia. But I teach ESL, English as a Second Language, not Math. Maybe I can help.

First, let me say if you aren't patient, and don't like students, and don't like teaching, and don't like planning lessons, don't bother being a teacher. As a student in college in the US probably all of us had a prof or two who were passionate about their subject, but couldn't teach; they preferred research; or the prestige that came with being able to say they were a prof. And they hated students, too. I hated teachers like that. And let me say don't be a teacher like that.

Yes, I enjoy teaching, but that doesn't mean you will. As for wanting a job that paid more, I'd say who doesn't want that at some point? How much work are you willing to do and what kind of work are you willing to do to make money that is "enough" for you? Only you and God can answer that question. On a positive note, I'd tell you that at the Lunar New Year there is a New Year's bonus that is typically 1.5 months of your salary. Very nice!!! Some schools you will have to do an "evaluation" form to see how "worthy" you are of your bonus. But I've gotten it every year and a very happy with it. Also, if you are a foreigner here and retire here, there is a big cash payout. I do know a couple of guys who did retire here and moved back to the US or their country.

As for teaching math abroad, honestly I'd say it's going to be tough. And you better have a Master's because it will open many more doors. So, get a Master's in Math or some STEM field. People here in Asia drill math into kids' heads; some get it, some don't. I'd say in my experience only slightly more get it here than in the US. English will open more doors. There are plenty of math teachers here. And from what I know they are paid pretty well and given pretty good teaching jobs. The plum jobs for foreigners will go to those with at least a Master's from a reputable school back home that the country you are going to approves. You have to check the country's embassy before you move out to that nation.

I do know a couple of strange exceptions. Guys I met here teaching English, but they had a math background. One, believe it or not, had an MBA in Accounting and had about 10 years experience working for that agency we all know and love in the US, the IRS. Well, his wife and he moved back here and was teaching English at a university here in the city we live in. He taught English for about 3 semesters, then they asked him to teach some math to graduate students in the graduate school. So now he has his dream job: He teaches Math in English to graduate students as well as some conversational English classes and a writing class to some undergraduate students. Another guy I've run into here in town was like this and he had a real Master's in Math and also taught Math in English as well as some kind of English class to undergraduate students. Again, both had Master's degrees. A BA won't cut it. With a BA you'll end up working in cram schools, and that's not everyone's cup of tea, let's say.

So, yes, you can do it, but you'll have to move there first and work you way into it.

There is paperwork. Is it the same as the US? I don't know. I taught ESL in LA for a couple of years in a private academy, adults as well as high school students and college students. There was minimal paperwork. Here in Asia, strangely enough, nations and governments and schools are dealing with declining populations. Too many teachers, not enough students and too many schools, and that's at every level, K-University. Schools administrations are offering early retirement packages to teachers who have worked X amount of years and are at Y age. They they just hire part-timers to take the left over courses. So you would have to deal with that.

So bringing this all back to MGTOW, yeah the women are prettier here; fat shaming works wonders on women's waistlines here. Be sure you whittle your waist before moving to Asia. People here are highly judgmental about weight and appearance here, and often don't bother trying to hide it and even smirk at you and giggle. Someone like Amy Schumer or some fat feminist here would break down bawling after 2-weeks here. And bring a large suitcase of extra clothes in your size if you are thinking of being here long term, because it's just a simple fact that westerners are bigger than Asians in height and weight. Even at my thinnest I could just barely find clothes that fit me. In my university classes the average woman 18-22 years old is 95-110 pounds. Very nice to look at. But pretty doesn't mean they aren't crazy; many are. And you could be at her mercy in a foreign country. So I'll just say tread very cautiously in this area here. Obviously, never have a relationship with a female student. Guess who the school would support? Or even the police? I've heard many whorror stories of foreign guys here who did date or even marry some woman here and lived to regret it in every conceivable manner. Based on my experience, I'd definitely say stay away from women from the PRC (China); Hong Kong; and South Korea; and Japan. India, too. Pretty they are, yes, and pretty useless. They're also lazy. Women under 30 in Asia can't do anything except stare at a screen and tap and swipe and spend money and wish they had more money to spend. Women in Asia love to sleep all day and stay up all night and hate to do housework. I begin every class by putting on my best teacher's face and give a stern, "No cell phones" announcement before beginning the lesson. I confiscate phones often. Eventually they learn and get the idea. No really means no.

Teaching sucks. You're on your feet all day, the kids are morons, you spend your evenings grading papers, the parents are useless.

The pay is crap. There is no free time. During the summer you have professional qualification activities to do. With a software job, you can go pick up your laundry in the afternoon and come back to the office if you want. With teaching, you have to be on time, every time, and there is no schedule flexibility.

I would drive a cab before taking a teaching job..

If you are able to do AI in your software job, be thankful. At least you aren't doing website bullshit.

Not a teacher but every so often i get the idea that i should go do my teacher training. It would only take me a year. I think, hey, decent salary, stable income, nice benefits and a good pension scheme, why not?

Then i remember how overworked teachers are while having to deal with bratty council estate kids and mountains of paperwork all day. Then i think back to when i was in school and how stressed out all the teachers seemed to be and it puts me off again.

I work as a professional management instructor and coach, i.e., I teach management and delivery methodologies to individuals looking for professional certification in a particular field. For me, it was a natural step in the succession of my career.

Red pill men make great teachers, imo. Teaching gives me that sense of self-actualization that I couldn't otherwise obtain professionally as a manager, etc. It's also incredibly rewarding as I'm able to spread a few red-pill truths unconsciously.

For example, when teaching the fundamentals of risk management, I use the example of crossing a street. I ask, "What is the probability that you'll get hit by a car when crossing the street?" Without the ability to objectionably quantify the occurrence, everyone responds unanimously with low probabilities.

I then ask, "What if the probability of being hit by a car when crossing the street was 50%; would you cross it?" They then respond with an absolute "no." I then continue to explain that no organization would hold an operational risk of 50% and look for ways to either transfer or mitigate the risk or essentially accept it as an issue and look to developing a resolution plan.

In red-pill spirit, I then ask, "Well, what if I were to tell you that the probability of divorce was 50%; would you get married?" Truth bomb dropped.

Being skilled at math is extremely valuable-you'll always have a teaching job if you are certified to teach math-you should absolutely go abroad and teach short term just for the experience alone. The opportunity alone could open up dozens of avenues for career/life for you. More importantly Education in most other countries are different than america, kids are more respectful, because education is valued more, so you'll end up actually teaching.

I left teaching in 2003, mostly due to the toxic feminazi milieu. Now, the government is hiring thousands of new teachers...but I won't even apply. It's simply too risky.
