Went to the doctor today, watched a woman stir up trouble with the girl at the front desk. "Well, I know what the note said," she shouts. "Don't treat us like we're some old hoo-dads. We are people, you know. Carl." Carl hobbles over. "She's giving me attitude," the wife says while pointing at the dumbfounded girl. Poor Carl looks at me, then at the girl, and just shrugs.

After leaving there, I dodge two women texting while driving. The only reason they don't cause accidents is because other, smarter people swerve to avoid them as they waver between lanes. I finally get to work and calmly handle customers while establishing a good rapport. Handshakes and smiles. "Thank you," I say sincerely, hoping to retain their business. Meanwhile, the women colleagues pick fights. "Sir, if you'd listen to what... sir, if you cut me off I'm going to... SIR! Ok, I'm done talking to you." Crosses arms. Shakes head. "Sir, I'm done."

After leaving work, I buy onions and chicken because I'm planning to make a good dinner. A woman is screaming at her man on the phone. Her ass is sticking out of her pants. She has a couple of neck tattoos that were popular in 2008. When I get to the register, I ask the young mother how her son is doing. "Take care of that boy," I say. She glows with pride.

When I exit the store a fat slob of a mother on a bench is texting while her son begs people for money to support his 'high school football team.' But because he was busy texting on his iPhone 11, he didn't get me in time. Some dumb woman who comes out after me gives him a twenty.

Then when I get home, I chill with my dog, cook some good food, chat with my kids and read news articles about how men are aggressive rapists and pillagers of the world.

I'm not a religious man, but this old verse from my youth in church sticks in my mind. "Blessed are the persecuted."
