But yeah, you're gonna have to "suck some dick" or "kiss the right ass" to get there...

You don't have to do that though. You can start your own company and form your own culture around rising the ranks and promotions.

But start a successful company is much easier to write than it is to do.

Yes, the corporate world is exactly like you described, at times worse, at times a bit better. But it is what it is.

How to get the courage to start something for myself.

Make a plan. Today's company is financing your tomorrow's dream. Start something small as you're still at your present job, just develop a MVP, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minimum_viable_product keep in trying and pivoting till you have something that has traction at which point it's "only" a question of growth, grow to a point where you quit your job.

Also, lower your overhead to the bare minimum now.

Go for a government job - any job to start with. Then move through to a spot in whatever department you make your goal. Minimise your wants. Eliminate all your unneeded possessions. You can do it!
