Probably stating the obvious, but going off of r/cosplaygirls and cosplay in general, is anyone in the mindset that it’s another invaded (and completely overrun) area that used to be men or mostly men just doing what they like (in this case: games, comics, otherwise “nerdy” aspects of life and culture) and it’s now just a place for posers (usually women) to pretend they like it because they just want attention?

I’ve heard similar arguments about the world and realm of sports, and in historical aspects business and politics (which I won’t get into details about because that was before my time) but am I crazy for drawing a loose parallel of sorts?
