I don't find these 2 articles contradictory. One is about the level of stress on a daily time scale - women get stressed from coping with work or life during the day. That is they wake up OK, then get progressively stressed with new challenges.

The second article is about coping with stress the long term, and says that oestrogen basically repairs organism after stress. So the women get stressed, but then oestrogen comes and repairs the damage caused by stress.

Who then is a victim of women's stress? Emotional Tampons! A female daily loads of stress is dumped on them, but they are men, so they don't have a mechanism to repair the damage caused by this externally acquired stress.
