My dad always said if I wanted to go into the military, throw the thought of a healthy relationship out the window. I went down the contractor route but still applys. If you're going to be out of town for months on end, don't even bother trying to enter a relationship. Long distance relationships don't work.

They’re called a “dependapotamus” and I can’t tell you how many guys I’ve seen get fucked over. Literally my best friend was a Sapper, he got married right before his deployment. I was like bro, don’t do that, we get fucked over, and the 2nd LT was like “Dude what the fuck, why would you do that.”

Anyways, Sangin Afghanistan , Helmand Province.... a fucking war zone like no other. My friend is in the same company , different platoon and he gets wrecked, TBI, bleeding out of his ears, he’s just fucked up.

I wanna say they took him to Germany and then back to the states but long story short, his wife was fucking another Marine the whole time and told him once he was healthy.

Now he’s doing great, but the guy is out there in bumfuck sand land fighting and his wife is living in his condo fucking another man.

Such bullshit. Similar shit happened to my brother, a fucking Captain in the USMC but he didn’t get injured. Fiancé fucking another dude.

I saw this after every deployment, tdy, and field training excersize. EVERY SINGLE ONE some guys wife was caught sponsoring dudes on base. We had one MP who was certified gangster. He made them get visitor passes when they had a dependa i.d. and the dude with them didn't. Offical record and these women wouldn't give half a fuck they'd get that pass that has the dudes name and thier and is stored as record.
