It's almost as if Hollywood makes films, in order to make money! You can have your All the same gendered cast films but please make something original and stop riding on the fame of others.

Just make movies with interesting, compelling female characters. Men will gladly go and support them.

Here are just a few “strong independent superhero women” that men like....

Princess Leia

Captain Janeway

Wonder Woman

The Fabulous Moolah and Mae Young

Because they are badass and interesting and compelling

Note that none of them are super hot or sexy other than maybe Wonder Woman. They are just worth watching and cheering for.

So give us more of that and we will support your movies.

Afterlife is about family and lineage and legacy and all these other fucking white patriarchal American values. It's literally a reaction to the idea of 4 women, including one Black woman. The franchise must assert its "REAL" predecessor.

I have a lot of respect for a movie that gives tribute and honors Harold Ramis's contributions to the world. The guy created the childhood memories for so many ghostbusters fans.

Ramis collaborated with Dan Aykroyd on the screenplay for Ghostbusters, which became one of the biggest comedy hits of all time, in which he also starred as Dr. Egon Spengler,[21] a role he reprised for the 1989 sequel, Ghostbusters II (which he also co-wrote with Aykroyd). His later film Groundhog Day) has been called his "masterpiece."[1]

The all female movie of Ghostbusters didn't give any tribute or acknowledgement to Harold Ramis at all. As a ghostbusters fan since I was a kid, I can say with authority that the all female movie was a complete fuck-up.

This new movie shows it has a tribute and a large amount of respect to this man's life. The man that helped write ghostbusters to begin with. So I really hope it does well.

Actually, I already know it will do well. Because people want to see movies that give respect and remember the people that deserve it.

As much as I'm not a big fan of remakes (especially the heretical 2016 Ghostbusters which I watched for free), this one looks good. It seems to have an actual engaging history and actual lineage to the original cast. Unlike the other one which discarded any semblance of storytelling in favor of preaching and ironically, bland and stereotype characters.

Which leads me to my next point. In trying to point out the "fucking white male patriarchy" of the original movie, they forget about Ernie Hudson's character Winston Zeddemore, who happens to be black. Which it didn't matter because, being men, the Ghostbusters clicked instantly and any semblance of race went out the window. Plus he was the voice of reason to the other guys which I thought was far from the stereotype of the, excuse my English, "rowdy nigger" black person. Unfortunately, for all their wokeness, Leslie Jones in the 2016 movie was precisely a "rowdy nigger", more precisely, the stereotype of a sassy vulgar Shaneequa, which can't be a good image that blacks want. Then again, as I pointed out, this movie is all they're trying to eradicate as far as stereotypes go, especially with Kate McKinnon's butch lesbian character who I guess was a stand in for Egon and Chris Hemsworth's "hot" but dumb blond character who was definitely a stand in for Jeannine. Which the latter one is a massive insult as Jeannine was actually smart and capable, not to mention she actually had a sincere attraction to Egon, which made her human, unlike Hemsworth's character, which was devoid of personality and reduced him to eye candy for the harridans (sexual objectification much?) It is akin to what the new Powerpuff Girls getting rid of the mayor's assistant Ms Bellum even though she possessed the same qualities as Jeannine and replacing it with images of the child Powerpuff Girls twerking.
