First see if there is a ps update for the console, second connect your controller to the ps via usb cable to see if it requires a firmware update itself. You can also see if, while connected directly to the system, the controller works. If none of these help, I’d look into purchasing a new one.

Also, I’ve tried disconnecting it from the console a few times and restarting the system as well with no luck
