End Game?

There is no endgame. Human empires are cyclical. They tend to rise, thrive and inevitably collapse within approximately 250 years. The clown world we currently live in points to the idea that we're hurtling towards the collapse right now. I don't see how we can ever colonise space if we are always fated to tear ourselves apart from the inside.

Extinction. Space colonization is NEVER going to happen. Humans aren't smart enough to pull it off, and trying will just end in disaster for the long-term. Nuclear war will get here first.

The short answer? You decide your own endgame. It's called self-actualization. If you want to explore space, do it.

As for humanity; once you live long enough you know that humanity is raging river; you can't swim against it, but you can swim with it to safety.

You shouldn't get in humanity's way; and you shouldn't let humanity get in your way either.

Expanding beyond the planet earth is definitely the starting point for the real humanity that is yet to come. We are the cavemen of space age.

However, before that can happen, we have to strive so that enough of us survive to reach that point. I strongly believe that in the near future, there will be an "evolution event" - basically a big chunk of humans will die. Surviving that should be our goal.

Humanity will destroy itself, soon or later, and as i am not some kind of supreme leader, i have no power or desire to change that.

But for myself, sometimes i acted against my own principles and did some stupid choices, now i am studying old wisdom so when i leave this world, will not be in state of regret or shame.

Hmm...wow didn't expected such a deep question. Sure it's worth to answer honestly.

I think that globaly the most important problem is overpopulation of the Earth and climate change crisis. Something is not right with our home planet and instead of thinking about solutions, main countries are bickering in their petty squables. But it's a human tribal nature to show, which tribe is the best, if it's ideology (Liberalism vs Communism), state (USA vs Russia) or religion (Christian vs Islam).

So in my honest opinion humanity should consider several solutions:

First solution - inventing technologies, which will allow people to adapt their cohabitation with harmony to the climate. "Green" energy was a first step to it and now investing in technologies to allow humans to live in cohabitation with the Nature, rather than exploitation of it should be priority, without means to colonize other planets;
Second solution - In my honest opinion true end game should be exploration of the Universe, space colonization and in the end meeting other civilizations (logically the Universe is vastly too big for humans to be the only intelligent species, lets be honest here). So countries should think about not only colonizing space, but also thinking about creating an intergalactic human representation etc.;
Third solution/scenario - the worse case scenario in my opinion is that we will harvest whole resources and pollute so much our planet that it won't be habitable. With this human race will extinct or we will have post apocaliptic scenario like in Mad Max or the Age of Strife in Warhammer 40k (yep Technobarbarian Warlords). In the end if we won't take care of our planet, our planet will "take care" of us.

Honestly, I think our end-game is a form of VR that's immersive, utopic and satisfying. Something like the matrix but without the evil. This will help us transcend the limits of our solar system without having to contend with the horrific interstellar distances. All of our instincts -- including reproductive ones -- will be cared for within the matrix. And perhaps there'll be some way for our consciousness to be 'uploaded' into that matrix in such a way as to give the surviving people the sense that we still exist, and they will too.

I think that path is increasingly likely if we continue down this overpopulation route. There are other possibilities of course, but this is the one I see as most likely if we keep going how we're going. Eventually our physical location will be so constrictive and so bleak that we'll need to escape into the infinite spaces online.
