In today's world, millenial men are now pretty much required to plan an extraordinary, out-of-the-box (expensive) date that acts as the secret build-up to the proposal, coupled with enlisting a camera crew to take proposal stealth pics when the proposal happens, so that later on, the woman can narcissistically brag about it on Facebook.

Men are now expected to follow this template. If you don't do this when you propose, then the woman will be unhappy, and you will already be starting the engagement/marriage off on the wrong foot (in their eyes)... If she even still wants to say yes!
