So was at work today, one of the guys who only comes to my shop about 1x a month for weekends was talking.

going on about how broke he was, like too broke to function even as a normal adult so i question him as to why he is in such dire financial straights despite him having multiple jobs (as revealed by the flow of the conversation)

initially he says its because he hasnt started getting paid to go to college yet (he is a vet gone civilian waiting on his montgomery GI money for college) but come to find out its mostly because he is paying for his mother in laws chemo therapy.

so i question him as to why its him paying for her, "because she is family" to which i remarked something akin to "betcha they'll treat you all the same once you get divorced"

he lost his shit "i'm not going to get divorced!! why would you say that" (or something similar) it was clear to see he knows somewhere in the depths of his soul his mariage is not "healthy"

almost certain he was guilted/nagged into paying for this, more importantly where is the rest of his mother in laws family in her time of need?

most simple and obvious answer is she probably nagged her husband (s) (assuming she even got married in the first) away/to death and there is no one else willing to care for her worthless ass.
