I’ve started thinking about adding another fun car to my stable. I’ve already got a few really fast cars but I’m taking a different approach with this one.

I’ve never taken any form of HPDE and I’d probably be unsafe on the track in one of my faster cars so I’m planning on getting a used FR-S/Toyota 86, replacing the drift happy stock tires, upgrading the brake pads and using it at a local road course to go through their driving school program.

Anyways, as I add up the costs for the car related to financing (I could easily buy the car outright but money is cheap these days and that $15K cash will do much better for me in my investment portfolio), tires, brakes and fluids I’m realizing that it will cost me about $3-4K/yr to get a fun little car that can take me anywhere, be a great learning platform and be fun to work on.

That same $3-4K/yr spent on a woman would get me occasional sex, multiple personalities, emotional baggage and the fear of a false rape allegation. Spend your money wisely gentlemen.
