I dislike that it’s happening on the new year wave, and I know I should be strong enough to do it myself, but maybe I need some feedback and motivation to kick myself to sticking with it. That all being said, here’s the short list of things I want to do this year to improve me and have some fun while doing it.

Feedback about what to expect or know going in, or if I should omit or change things is appreciated. Especially with the first-

1) Start investing. Nothing major as I’m still dialing down debt and in school, but I’m don’t putting it off after the last few years

2) Finish my AAS in May and take the GRE for grad school in 2021. I want to take the summer & fall off after 3 years in school.

3) Pay off at least $5000 of my current accumulated debt. Yeah, it’s a lot higher cumulative, but as I rebuild me, I stopped making more and making excuses about it and I’m cutting deep into it to lead to a zero sum by 40 (I’m 35).

4) Read 2 books a month. Considering I’ve read very little non-school books and used to hate reading when younger, it’s progress in the right direction.

5) Take my motorcycle exam and get my license. Have permit, and so I need that final step to full license.

6) Take a scuba class, or two. I don’t like deep water where I can’t touch, and am afraid when I can’t see bottom, and so I’m going to eliminate that fear, because I can

7) Exercise, and stay with it. My body isn’t terrible, but I don’t want to fall apart and be a stereotype middle-aged dude that let himself go. I want to be active enough to chill with my nephews and niece as they get older and do hopefully cool things, and not be a loser uncle that doesn’t do much

That’s what’s on tap for me, and it’ll help me create/instill a discipline for everything and anything in the future
