I have been lurking here for years, I have had a few failed relationships and tried to figure out what kept going wrong. The first conclusion that I came to was that 'I was an unhappy person' and that there is no way that I could be in a happy relationship if I can not be happy with myself.

So there started my journey to self improvement, it was hard but I managed to reach big goals that I set for myself. Education wise I managed to get an engineering degree in Applied Physics. I also managed to get my body in shape and got my deadlift up to 145kg (x1.7) raw. I had my shit together, I was happy but I still wasn't where I wanted to be. My self improvement continued, I started reading more and I was trying to reach my über-ich. Which is a term I cam across during my self education. It became a visualisation of the perfect version of myself that I could keep striving for.

I reached a point where I thought I was able to get back in the dating game to meet the women who would possibly become a wife and mother to our kids. I had just spent 2 years getting my shit together so I was a bit rusty. But the confidence that I built worked like charm.

Nothing was really different, I had more women who were attracted to me but the relationships fell flat. I didn't feel bad though I just moved to the next attempt.

Until I met a girl who I will refer to as M, M seemed great we had a lot in common and things were looking good. I was looking for a traditional relationship and so did she, at least that is what I thought. After a while M became randomly angry or sad, but it felt fake and I quickly found out she was doing this to manipulate me into doing what she wanted. I let it go on for a while because it had little effect on me but when she pushed the limit and started drinking more and making scenes in public I ended the relationship.

The women I met after M were more and more like her, now either I became the type of person that attracted these types or AWALT. Either way I decided it is time to go My Own Way again like I did for those 2 years.

So here I am, looking to be better without going the traditional route of marriage, kids etc. I am not here just to be a MGTOW I am also here to be a better happier man in general.

I hope to read about everybody's succes stories here and hope to be able to share more with you lads in the future.
