Because you make it the most important thing in your life, you have decided to make a "want" into a "need". It's not a need. You could go the rest of your life never having sex and unlike food, water, and oxygen, you won't die.

So you have a want. If you don't feel you can control it, and your risk threshold is high enough, then consider just casual P&D or FWB if you really want it that badly.

Of course, you'll be taking risks, some of which can screw you over for the rest of your life, but you'll have to determine your risk tolerance.

I disagree with you that our primary instinct is to procreate. I believe it's actually to kill. Sure, historically there was a certain amount of fucking going on, but that was AFTER the killing. This whole modern age has removed the killing and left only the fucking; which is leaving a lot of frustrated guys.

I'm not joking; recent studies has shown that in pre-history only one man out of 17 was regularly leaving progeny. So, I don't think those other 16 guys were just hanging out beating their meat. They were dead or for some reason couldn't get the pussy.

So, I agree that the lack of challenge (and associated death making) is leaving us guys all kind of frustrated. Unfortunately, killing/raping is kind of frowned upon lately so we have to find alternatives that are satisfying. Clearly, the legal environment is removing recreational fucking from the list, so that only leaves finding intelectual and physical pursuits to fill the void.

Traditional physical pursuits that are fulfilling include: fishing, hunting, gardening, ranching. These are hunter-gatherer activities. You could also include mining, engineering (building/fixing things), blacksmithing, and other craft pursuits to keep you busy.

Traditional intelectual pursuits include: writing, music, philosphy, religion, archetecture, mathematics, science in general, and more engineering.

Alternatively, you could take up a military career - which might get you some killing if things work out... or it just might be a bunch of getting ready but never actually getting an opportunity to find yourself on the two-way rifle range (I did the get ready to fight thing for a couple of years myself. It was good to get the military romance out of my system. I never did get any fighting - and that's probably just as well.) It's kind of sad that the whole traditional "sacking of cities" has fallen out of fashion... but it was quite popular in times past.

So, there is a hell of a lot of interesting and cool things that men do that will appeal to your basic "human male" needs that don't include killing or fucking. You just have to go out and start doing them!

My personal opinion is it you need to examine why you get up in the morning, as you put it. You said it was to get laid. Your biological urges are so strong that you can't think of anything else, is my guess. So you have to decide for yourself, are you going to keep doing what your body tells you to even though you know it put you at risk for a whole host of problems, or are you going to look deep within yourself, find the Inner Man that trumps nature, and put him in charge. Are you going to continue to rut around like a pig looking for an acorn, or are you going to rise above the mud and live your life in a way that puts yourself first and foremost. Are you going to make sure that the time you spent acruring resources is not wasted by giving them to someone else who doesn't deserve them, or appreciate them? Are you going to work on improving yourself, and your lot in life, and being the master of your own destiny. I guess my biggest question is, what sort of man do you want to be. The type who only gets his self-worth from what others think of you, or the type that determines your own self-worth? The basic question here is, how much of your biology are you going to let rule you?

What you are talking about is validation. Needing it from women is just poisoning your life.

Shrug off that need like a ten pound leech. I wake up every morning for my writing. I've been revising for a month, and decided a few days ago on a whim to completely rewrite it.

I just archived 5,000 pages(1.5m words) and now I'm only at 60 pages, and all I am is excited to try again and make it even better than before. I live to make myself happy, and I don't need anyone else to do that.

You are not an animal, you can intellectualy distance yourself from actively harmful biological imperatives such as seeking a mate in this climate. The physiology is harder, but you can mute it out by completing other parts of the power process.

Such as seeking independance from government, society, the frailty of your form, creating something, destroying something etc.

If you want to go beyond biology, i recommend pursuing something mental or spiritual. Its up to you really.

A recommendation from me personally would be to try something where you can interact with other men in a meaningful way and have a positive effect on their lives. Be the cool neighbour you knew as a child, the guy in a club that is always willing to help a newbie find the ground under their feet...

Helping and interacting with men is much more rewarding than it is with women. Although there are also groups to avoid, such as white knights, radical ideologists (political or religious).

Basically male solidarity.

I wish i had a positive male influence when i was a child...

I've found that my addiction to porn and sexual gratification can be changed. It's a psychological thing your brain gets used to craving, but that craving can be broken.

You can ALWAYS change if you truly want to.

By seeing this is nothing more than a drug like alcohol, heroin a.s.o. Yes it gives a great rush. In fact I can't see anything more good feeling than female validation. But it's still a drug: the feeling will subside. And once you learn you actually don't need the drugs, you can kick it altogether.

What motivates me to get out of bed? I'm asking myself that same question my entire life. But that's only when I just woke up. Not much use for me in that brief period of the day. I hate waking up. (-; For me: I actually love to go to work, make my money, do what I like and contribute. OC I don't like every day on work, but who does? I'd go insane if I should lay in my bed the whole day.
