I eventually settled on a PS4 for a few reasons. It’s more fair for online games because everyone’s console is the same. You won’t lose an edge because someone else has a better machine than you. Also it’s harder to cheat on a less open source platform. Also it’s cheaper than a half decent gaming PC. I have a PS4 pro now and a MacBook Air that can do all the computer stuff. That’s about $1300 for both; still a fraction of the cost of a halfway decent gaming PC.
That’s not to say gaming PC’s aren’t awesome. I actually built one back in the days of AGP. But the aforementioned is the main reason I went with console this time. I’m in it for more the experience and less the performance.
