I think it would all depend on how you guys decide to set it up. Basically you should look into your state's cohabitation property rights since I'm assuming both your names will be on the lease and you will be buying things for the house together. You can also research cohabitation property agreements and see if that's something you will want to have just in case. Theoretically you can get screwed because if things go south, all she has to do is accuse you of domestic abuse and the cops will more than likely just take her word for it and "encourage" you to go somewhere else. If your name is on the lease and you just decide to bail, she can take you to court for unpaid rent or whatever else she feels entitled to. All I can say is good luck brother.

That's called common-law, the same shit as divorce and varies from place to place. I have seen a guy loose everything he had because a woman with a child (not his) moved in with him, took his house, monthly payments just after 6 months.

He was lucky that she did not charge with a false rape accusation or domestic violence accusation, otherwise it would have been jail time for him.
