Hello all. Yes, I’m a terrible person and you ranting at me won’t really make a difference. I’m a complicated person. Lots of abuse and pain in the past. I’m here for realistic advice and a chat.

Here goes: I have a bf [23M]. He’s a nice person, mature. Works full time (our finances are mostly seperate) but he doesn’t help me out at all re: cooking, cleaning, responsibilities with our pets and household. We have a relaxed household life, and it’s fine. He does love me a lot but maybe shows it in ways that don’t really do it for me?

I do a lot for him, and try to make him happy. I’m a giver and always do a lot for birthdays and do little surprises etc. I do the cooking, cleaning, massages, laughing at jokes, listening to him talk for hours about junk he knows I don’t like but he wants to unload it.

Then, sometimes I act in a “what he doesn’t know won’t hurt him” way, to fulfil my desire for sparks. I like the attention and the validation. I haven’t slept with anyone else though.

I think I’m falling for a guy [26M] I met online a few months ago. We snapchat a lot and get along great. He’s very alternative and different. We met for the first time yesterday and it was awesome. Such great laughs, deep talks and good kisses. Not more though.

He’s leaving back to Germany in 2 weeks. He’s been here for a year. He doesn’t know I have a bf. And, he doesn’t know that I know that he has a girlfriend back home. I found out by looking him up on social media. It doesn’t bother me, to be honest. I feel good that he thinks I’m worth all the laughs and chats. Since he doesn’t know that I know, it was interesting watching him during the night. I had my head on his chest when we were sitting on a couch and he was patting my hair. After I sat up, he looked at me with a very loving and sad gaze. (In my head I was like “haha, you’re dealing with conflict inside right now”) but he would’ve thought that I thought that it was just about him leaving 😅

Sooooo. Here we are.

What should the next two weeks look like in your opinion? - Break up with my bf? Lots of household stuff to divide, plus pets.. and he believes in a future for us. - Tell the German guy that I know about his gf, or don’t? - Tell him I have a bf or not? - Tell him how I feel, or not? - Try to become a better person in the relationship I’m already in? If you can’t be with the one you love, love the one you’re with?

Hit me.

TL;DR: Have a bf. Boring relationship that’s hard work for me chore wise but it’s “nice” enough. I am bad in secret sometimes. Met a guy from online yesterday. We’ve talked for 3 months. He’s great. He doesn’t know I have a bf. He also doesn’t know that I know he has a gf in Germany. What’s the action plan from here?

EDIT: funnily I actually met the guy before all this went down, he visited us while on a bike tour in France... a gangly self-righteous brit.

You have no words? Why? Isn't this how most relationships end those days? Stay together - even if you feel miserable - to avoid the social stigma of being single, then monkey branch off into the next relationship (after cheating for a couple of weeks).
