The apartment where I live has assigned clearly marked resident parking. The other day while one of the kids has the car a caregiver for an elderly neighbor pulls into our space. She's been here before, knows the rules. Obviously she doesn't care. I explain to her that she has parked in my space and would she please move her car. She says that she's not going to talk to me and keeps walking. Well, the manager is right there so I enlist his help. He knows the young woman, calls her by name, asks her to move her car. She explains that she's only dropping off some groceries (for some reason ignoring the much much closer loading zone) and keeps on walking. So we wait. After some time she leaves, and moves her car to the street.

Okay, problem solved, forget about it, move on. Uhhh.... no.

She tells her client about the trial that she's endured and the old woman calls the manager. I'm in his office bullshitting when the call comes in.

I made her cry. I yelled at her, and was abusive. The manager yelled at her. She's traumatized. Apparently I didn't say (not making this up) 'please'.

The manager explains to the old lady that he was right there, that I wasn't abusive or profane, that if I yelled it was because I was talking across a parking lot. The manager yelled at her. He explained that he was talking to her down a forty foot hallway. After some back and forth she tells him to forget it. He tells her that he already had.

Sheesh.
