Apply for another job. If you get offered a new job, give 2 weeks notice (it's the polite thing to do with an employer). Some employers have exit briefing so they can learn why your leaving. You can tell the truth.

If your a valued employee, things can go bad for her. But still follow through on new job, just tell your boss, your looking for more opportunities, or broaden your knowledge, blah, blah. Don't be smug, just humble and depart. You never know you'll have an opportunity with same company down the road, at a higher position.

I'm 59, and retired. I learned 90% of a new job in first 3 months. After you work several jobs, you will gain 90% of the knowledge of each of those jobs. After years, you'll know a lot more than, someone that stays in one job for decades.
