I was scared to death a few years back when I was working a sysadmin post and one of the servers failed. The issue was in the female portion of a connection. I said this and the female "sysadmin" ( who got guys to "help" her with all her work of course ) and she didn't know what the difference between a male and a female connector was. Thought I was being setup for a MeToo. I said "The hole the cord goes in, the pins broke." She still didn't get it but I walked away at that point. She went to some dude to "help her" do it all for her.

There's a bright side to this. By removing all terms referring to women and men, they're helping us erase any vestige of themselves from history.

1000 years from now, archaeologists will know women just weren't that important in the grand scheme of things. Nothing will refer to them.

Though I have seen them (and have referred to them as ) mainboards, system board, etc.
