The "rib" is just a redefined word for "penis".

17 He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together. 18 His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron. 19 He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.

Much like the "tail", that's another correction from "penis".

We can't say "penis" because the religious lickers get upset at all the penis in the bible. Of course they seem to not have a problem with the rape and kidnapping of virgin young girls, but you can't win them all.
