Is MGTOW a Movement?

MGTOW is not a movement, it implies that we have a common goal we're moving towards and we all have different goals in mind. We could say that we're "moving" towards freedom but who isn't? It isn't concrete enough for me to call it a movement. I would rather call it a philosophy. We don't even have a common enemy other than gynocentrism, but it's not like we're even fighting it, we're not even playing the game. It's like asking us what kind of strategy we have in life, we don't, because we don't play by the rules society has given us.

It’s a movement the same way people with beards are a movement. People grow beards for their own reasons, not because they’re members of some kind of movement or organization.

The only common denominator we have is that we don’t follow society’s expectation of gynocentrism.

No, it still isn't... it is still just a "phenom."

There are (always have been) a subsection of idiots -- generally guys who are not actually MGTOW (still married, cohabiting & virtually married, various pussy-chasing PUA's, incels, and assorted other ilk); but who like the IDEA of "being MGTOW" and who delude themselves into thinking if they call themselves (and others like them) "MGTOW" then "magically" they will be -- and THEY are the ones generally pushing the notion that MGTOW is a "movement" etc.

Doesn't actually work that way. If they succeed at anything, it will merely be to entirely UNDERMINE the definition of "MGTOW"... essentially rendering it meaningless and useless.

Won't affect actual MGTOW in any substantive sense... we just will have lost a (dubiously) useful descriptive term, and will need to come up with a different one.

MGTOW doesn't have a leader, sure we listen to Sandman, Sidney, MGTOW Angry man, etc, but we don't have to follow anything they say, what kind of movement everyone does what want and don't want to achieve long term goals in society? Check feminism and MRA and you'll see they fit in the movement term...

Well the day MGTOW self identifies a movement I stop using the term. Of course being a movement isn't a bad thing, but changing society is not why I chose to be mgtow.

Of course there will be people inside trying to make it a movement like Itachi Uchiha did. Becoming a movement is nit the best option bcoz they can hijack us. The system can't fight mgtow bcoz we're no organized, if we do, they'll have smth to strike.

A man can say he is a married MGTOW, if in the end of the day he has to be accountable to his wife on how he spends his money, he is not a fucking mgtow... Everyone can say it's a movement, get the definitions like he did and check the bigger picture (what he didn't do) and you'll see mgtow is not...

How can it be a movement if each has their own goal and do not move in the same direction?

It’s like saying PNTHS(people not touching hot stove) is a movement. They have same belief that they should not touch a hot stove, but they have their own goals, personal beliefs and pretty much everything else can differ from person to person.
