Legs and back on a Wednesday? Oof. I always make that my cardio day
[–]OptimusFried0019 points 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
I've been skipping steps since I was 11. Everyday is leg day!
[β]42Ubiquitous0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I thought you were supposed to do complimenting muscle groups together, like bis & back, chest & tris, and that just leaves legs and shoulders for the third day. I mean, do whatever works for you, thatβs just what has been recommended to me.
[+]mr_lightsoff -27 points-26 points-25 points 7 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
Cardio ? Are you 50 ?
[β]BrettBrooks2121 points22 points23 points 7 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
Lol wtf. So I gotta be middle aged to enjoy running and biking? I'm 22 my dude. I also do a lot of Spartan races so cardio is important to what I do. I still lift 4 days of the week. And I finish those days with a mile run, 5 mile bike, 200 meter swim. On Wednesday I focus solely on cardio. 5 mile run, 15 mile bike, 1000 meter swim. Your heart is the most important organ. Strong healthy heart leads to a longer life. Plus running helps with my anxiety and depression. So there's that
[β]ApeGoesBananas2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You go, man! Killer lifestyle you got there. Keep it up.
[β]matthew_wyatt1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Dang you bike and run for so much more than you swim
[β]BrettBrooks214 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Swimming isn't as enjoyable to me. Yeah the resistance helps my muscles cool down and works the tone but it's just never been the relaxing and kinda high feeling I get when I run. Plus a mile is around 1600 meters so 1000 meters swimming is not as easy as it may sound. It's about a good 20 or so minutes at an average pace. I can do around 6 to 7 miles biking in that time or a little over 3 miles running.
[β]matthew_wyatt1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I get what you mean...maybe it would be more fun if lived near some cold lake or something or the ocean
[β]BrettBrooks211 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That is possible. Because a swimming pool gets really boring real quick. There are a few lakes near me. I've just never used them for my swimming because they aren't the cleanest.

[β]42Ubiquitous1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Wtf...
[β]Steaknkidney4563 points64 points65 points 7 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
I do leg day on Monday, but...it doesn't matter. Just get your ass to the gym.
[β]HelmutHoffman1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Why would I want to pay someone to be allowed to lift heavy things when I already bust ass all week?
[β]GFitness978 points9 points10 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Because it ensures that your body is in top condition so that you can continue busting your ass off without coming down with a disease or suffering from obesity.
[+]Just4yourpost-7 points-6 points-5 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
So you're saying you slave ass at the gym to ensure you live an even longer life slaving ass every day......
Hmmmmm...
[–]OptimusFried00111 points 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
Slave ass
You sound young. Trust me it feels like slaving now...but when you're on your 4th back injury in 5 years you'll think of this post and wish you slaved all those years.
Took me 3 years of recovery to get back to being able to do normal human activities in my 30s. Now at 41, I'm finally in my best shape since my football days, but I lost a few years of my life to pain.
Take better care of your body than anything else in this world. You're mgtow, so you're going to retire early. You'll want to be in the best shape to enjoy it.
[β]GFitness972 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No, not quite. I donβt βSlave assβ at the gym. I go because it clears my mind, allows me to get things done, I feel great the rest of the day, and I have a general sense of peace and control. It starts with a mindset change. Itβs a pathetic existence to view things such as youβre βslaving ass every day of your life.β Whatβs the point of living in that instance? If you started going to the gym, youβd probably fall in love with it and the satisfaction it gives you when you go.
[β]BrettBrooks213 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You know you can get work out equipment at home right? Or better yet you could use everyday objects to work out with. It's free to run and swim so you don't have to pay someone if you wanna work out
[β]DangZagnut49 points50 points51 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Made me laugh.

Full body 3 days a week is high iq
[β]KuonRad21 points22 points23 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I want to go back to a full body routine soon , I find out that's more effective than splits for me
[β]hrm08940 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I just switched to splits after doing full body for 4Γ· years and seeing major improvements. I think it has more to do with the "shock factor".

[β]OPPO_OSCAR6 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Making use of protein synthesis to the fullest. You should never be sore for days after a workout.
[β]meerita1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I do that
[β][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Splits five days a week you fucking casual. /s
Seriously though, I donβt think I work out my muscle groups to full potential with A full body workout.

Who tf does legs and back together? Sounds like a terrible Thursday...
[β]PerfectCeI5 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Deadlifts do legs and glutes so may as well chuck them together. My legs have gotten large and only lifts I do for them are 5 sets of 200kg deadlifts twice a week, my old shorts are too tight for my legs now
[β][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I'm gonna need a pic of your calves
[β]Shu-gar5 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Calves are mostly genetics sadly. I squat 465 and deadlift 550, yet if you saw me in shorts you would believe I don't train legs
[β]InAWhirl3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Exactly. These guys are lunatics.
[β]RevolutionaryPea72 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I do full body at every session, so me I guess.
[β][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Your muscles need rest
[β]RevolutionaryPea74 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yeah 3x a week full body. There's too much overhead involved with going to the gym, so I like to concentrate my sessions. Works well for me.
[β][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Whatever floats your boat I guess
[β]AndyJN1618 points19 points20 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
All these real chads here working on self improvement ππ» Iβm over here looking at my schedule and I have day drinking pencilled in on all the days that end in y lol
[β]keltsbeard5 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Beer and picking locks....that's my best guess at what I'll be doing.
[β]AndyJN165 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
That raises more questions then answers... picking locks is cool though
[β]keltsbeard6 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I got a new lot of keyless Abus padlocks off eBay. Gotta pick them open to remove the cores to repin them to a key, make copies of the key, then resell them and keys.

[β]cilantromakesmepuke16 points17 points18 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I can't imagine doing deadlifts, front/back squats, and back exercises on the same day. Seems evil. Man I love this guys response in the pic.
[–]Williamsarapist4 points 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

[β]fryhldrew1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
That would be me spending the morning at the gym. But how do you do legs AND back?? Like, aren't they completely unrelated??( I'm a noob). For me, it's back and biceps on Wednesday, and legs on Thursday
[β]TheFinestDonkeh2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I mean deadlifts incorporate some parts of the legs but apart from that not sure lol.
[β]fryhldrew0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's a compound exercise. Albeit, it works, but I can't imagine someone doing it for hours straight. That's just plain boring
[β]nemezote0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is fake, this has been a meme for decades. Good on OP for at least swiping shit from years ago.
