Just some context about me: I'm a 19 year old MGTOW, I was actually accidentally exposed to MGTOW content when a Sandman video popped up on my feed when I was a 13-14 year old, so I am very familar with MGTOW philosophy as I basically consumed red-pills at a very young age. I am still purple-pilled because I am still young and so I don't think I can become fully red-pilled until I become more older/wiser/less hormonal. I know this sub reddit is one of the last brutally honest forums and will tell me what I need to hear and not what I want to hear, which is why I am posting this in the first place.

I started university about a month ago, when as I was walking out of class a relatively attractive girl approached me to talk about the class that we just had. She introduced herself and as did I and since I was finished class for the day we had lunch together. This would unintensionally become a regular thing and we ended up hanging out after our classes almost every day. I would also invite her out to whatever my other buddies and I had planned for the weekend. I had always thought that it would be weird for us to be hanging out that much and still remain platonic (we would talk/hang out for 4-5 hours almost everyday) so I believed that we were heading towards something more romantic. Fastward to about a week from today, I was going to ask her something, when in the conversation that we were having she mentioned her boyfriend in passing. After hanging out with her for more than a month, she never mentioned him even once before. I can remember my heart sinking after hearing her mention him, but I kept my composure and went about everything as normal.

Although I felt distraught, the lessons I picked up from MGTOW would kick in. AWALT. It's difficult to be mad at female nature when you understand it. I remember a sandman video I watched talking about how it's pretty much impossible to become friends with women you have an attraction to. This would lead me to ghost her. I would leave her texts on read, or not even open them at all. This would have worked fine, if I didn't sit next to her in class, but even then I would continue on in silence to her, I am a very social person so I talked with a lot of different people in my class. Of course, she would text me the basic fluff about how our friendship meant so much to her and how I was emotionally hurting her (Unsure how you emotionally hurt someone with silence but whatever). I wish I could have had a clean break but as fortune would have it, I have to do a group assignment with her. I am planning on trying to get the assignment done as soon as possible so I can move on from this.

Anyways, what I wanted to ask this reddit was:

How would you have handled things?

What would you recommend me doing in the future?

Around what age do you become red-pilled and how did the affect the way you deal with your relationships?
