I kind of like how I'm seeing my facebook now. A ton of women I grew up with (aka snobs) suddenly complaining about being alone at 40 while all the while posting pics about wine and bitching about their ex boyfriends. It's almost like a stereotype :)

I just deleted mine last week that I had pretty much since Facebook became the new thing from MySpace. I just got tired of reading all the bullshit and it flowing over to real life where people want to talk about what so and so posted to Facebook. Nearly every woman I know jumping on the special snowflake/ignorant in your face activist bandwagon was icing on the cake to cement my decision. I did get a bunch of texts and calls from people thinking I was suicidal for deleting it out of nowhere, just further showed me that shit is too engrained in our lives.

'Silence' everything and everyone. Is what I've done. Much more peace for me without all that bullshit. It's disgusting.

EDIT: I think in Facebook the option is "stop following" or "unfollow" or "never show more post from this profile" in everyone profile and in pages. They will never know you silenced them.

people are, for the most part, super boring and pedestrian to me.

facebook is just a superhighway of every boring persons (especially women, what, another selfie? whoopdie-doo.) life being vomited up into the aether.

there's a mountain of things I'd rather do than scald my eyes any further by reading or watching any of the drivel that's spewed out on social media

Never used it, I left social media at the crash of MySpace and never looked back.
