The unicorn, a.k.a. the NAWALT woman, is a rare kind of woman who practices masculine virtue ethics (e.g. conforms to ideas such as honor, integrity, prudence, etc.). I should note: normative ethics is distinct from virtue ethics - just because something is "socially acceptable" doesn't make it virtuous (in fact, sometimes virtue ethics comes in conflict with social mōrēs).

I would define a NAWALT unicorn (a "good" woman) as a woman who conforms to male virtues, insofar as a woman can (e.g. strength/fortitude might be a male virtue, and while a woman may not be as strong as a man, nor have the fortitude to bear the same burdens; a strong woman would practice strength/fortitude to the fullest capacity she were able... "she doesn't complain much... for a woman." or "she is very logical... for a woman.").

On the spectrum of sexual dimorphism a masculine-thinking/behaving-feminine-looking woman is, by definition - rare.

One would not show prudence by betting all their money on a single roulette number... nor would a person show prudence by casting all their money equally upon all roulette numbers (because the pay-out is less than the cost, even if the risk of losing everything on a single spin is lower). This is analogous to betting on women; you may think that it's going to turn up red-23, you may hope and want that very much - you may even need the money and be psychologically invested in not losing all hope (to the point of being enthusiastic that your number will come up)... but it is still a foolish bet.

One might argue that roulette is a poor analogy and blackjack is a better one because one can collect additional information on the probability of any given outcome, however, I would argue that you cannot achieve a winning outcome from interacting with women with additional information; you can only break-even in the best case scenario (with perfect information).

In other words, you are the limiting factor in your quality of life. At best, a woman can be a non-net-negative influence on your life (e.g. allow you to achieve your potential, nothing more, nothing less - in the best case scenario). However...

If the best you can hope for is to break even, and, at worst, a woman can destroy your life... then it only makes sense to pursue women if you're looking to make your life go downhill.

The sexual gratification of masturbation is the achievement of a certain kind of potential (potential gratification), at best, a woman can make you cum just like your own hand... at worst, she can give you AIDS and leave you with blueballs, ruin your life and whatever else.

The unfortunate thing is that so few men (and women) know how to validate themselves (to have faith or confidence in themselves), and must trick themselves into confidence and authority by giving others authority... which is internally contradictory (i.e. how can you rightly attribute authority to someone without first having the authority to recognize authority).

The unicorn is a superstition of the unwashed masses, belief in the unicorn woman is the stimulant (and opiate) of hope necessary for the survival of the sick and weak (in need of superstitions).
