I say never dox yourself. No matter if you're highly successful or absolutely deplorable. There's nothing to gain out of it.

Yes, I also think people need to be a lot more careful with what information they give out.

What people need to realize is as soon as deep learning plus almost constant surveillance is a reality, a sufficiently powerful enemy will be able to track you down even if you use anonymized IP addresses without even looking for you. Just write enough stuff about your life, what you did last Sunday, and a search algorithm looking for keywords will be able to cross correlate and dox you without them having to employ anybody to track you.

In my country, the newspapers teamed up with the government and a hacker organization and decided to dox thousands of people who wrote negative things about immigration in newspapers comment fields. They then sent reporters to the homes of these private citizens and started harassing them. It wasn't even like stormfront stuff, but like old guys thinking things moved a bit to fast etc. One of the guys were 70 years old. The women who rewarded the hacker group was then an editor of a local newspaper but is now the head of the state television.

People say Canada is the most fucked country when it comes to SJW stuff. I don't know, man... Walk a mile in Swedish shoes.
