Then, have you discovered the meaning of life?
[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Imo, life(material) is experiencing the consequence of mentally formulated perceptions and correlations of and towards reality.
If by meaning you mean purpose or goal, or reason then yes, the purpose of life is achieving God, while it's (material life's) reason is ignorance.

The meaning of life is not one question, but two:
What is the meaning of all life?
Put simply; Procreation. To continue the system through the creation of new life. Through that propagation of life more opportunities for mutation will occur leading to more chances for adaptation, survival, and eventual genetic advancement.
What is the meaning of human life?
Put simply; Creation. Once a life form has secured its ability to procreate, adapt, and survive it has the luxury of re-tasking its efforts into contemplation, comprehension, and imagination which eventually leads to creation. Creation being the ability to make something out of the materials and intrinsic laws of the universe but which the universe itself could never create on its own. Meaning, the universe can make all the materials for a steam engine but only a human can actually imagine, create, task, and operate a steam engine.
We live in an era of creation and yet our society still tries to define our value by our ability to get laid and have babies, which leads to cognitive dissonance. Hence, the outbreak of confusion and depression in first world countries.
These are the two potential purposes for a human:
To breed, which is the biological/animal purpose.
To create, which is the ability to create something never before seen in all of existence. Divine purpose.
Many men have tried to live a life with a combination of both purposes, usually to the detriment of one and possibly both. I.e. you can be a good family man, a good business man, or something in between that is mediocre at both.
I recall various media throughout my life with variations of the phrase, "You dare to play God!?" or "What gives you the right to play God?!".
Make no mistake, we have taken the role of God ever since we invented the wheel, tamed the beasts, and cultivated the land.
To breed or to create, which purpose do you choose?
Rise above your animal instincts and become something more than the sum of its parts, brothers.

In control of your destiny? Please mate... become immortal then. Stop ageing. Become invincible. You can’t, some variables that define your destiny are completely outside your control.
There is only one God and His name is Jesus Christ. The Christian worldview is the only one that makes sense of and gives reason to our existence. Eastern religions are a way to fulfil your spiritual desires without the discipline or accountability to the creator.

It says the exact opposite and is the exact opposite of what you have written... It says were not... in control of our destiny independently or independent from God...
For God, Jesus Christ was the son of God... He never claimed to be God Himself... God is an unknown personality in the Bible... Further, a seeker of God in principle cares about God and not one religion... I adhere myself to no one religion... a dog identifies his master whether he is wearing a coat or a sweater, similarly a devotee identifies his master in different if not completely correct religions as the same God. Perhaps you're not aware that the scriptures I am quoting from, define the types of religions itself. Hence what religion or even absence of one is, what and why, are all enumerated in it. There's simply no scope of any confusion. Who practises what discipline, why, and with accountability are all so clearly defined as well. There is no confusion at all. Right now identifying with a particular body, and hence nationality, country, culture, faith, religion etc. being brought up in it, and hence unable to look at it critically, you're basically playing an indirect game of I'm better, you're not. My religion is better yours is not. It expands to everything. My country is better, yours is not, or my culture is better yours is not. This false identification is the basis of all illusion.
