From a very young age I've always felt something was very wrong with marriage and most relationships in general. I grew up in a home with an unstable marriage between my parents - which usually ended up with my mother saying something along the lines of "I'm entitled to 50% of your wage, pension, everything" when my dad was the main bread barer for the family. I always knew that was wrong.

I'm essentially expected to get married by my parents as they are "traditional" in that way, but even with a prenup I don't see any point really. I don't see any point in a relationship anymore as I've been severely burned in the past.

I've only ever had one serious relationship, lasting 6 years, and it ended quite badly. For a long time I feel like I suppressed what I had been put through - I was essentially a dog in cage at times. I was not allowed to have "girl" friends in any way shape or form - even girls that I had grown up with and had been friends with for many years I had to cut ties with etc. All the while she would be texting/snapchatting/meeting up with other guys.

After it ended I didn't really know what was happening, and less than two weeks later she was banging a guy I once thought was a friend - I went on holiday with him a year before hand for fuck sake. I guess he could be referred to as a "chad".

This happened around 2 years ago now and I still feel quite fucked up about it all, and everyday I see more and more shit from leftist media and all the feminist shit and it makes me wonder what hope there is for us guys.

tldr; I'm just like a lot of you guys that I've been reading about for a while. I'm lonely and don't know if i could ever trust another woman, but this sub reddit has definitely given me hope at a time when I really need it. Thanks, guys.
