Whenever men approach a problem, we take a different approach from women: actually find the solution.

Last night, I reserved a bowling lane for a few buddies and I. We approach the counter and the woman tells us that my lane isn't in their system. No biggie, right? I have the receipt in my email. "We don't have any lanes right now," she says. I tell her that we can wait a little while, but that it's not really my fault her system is down. She walks away, I assume to find a manager. Solutions she has proposed thus far: 0.

Another girl approaches and starts staring at me with wide eyes. "Did you tell him we have a waiting list?" The first girl says loudly that she didn't but that it doesn't matter because "we ain't got no place to put them."

I ask for a supervisor, and she huffs off to find one. An older woman comes over and sternly says that she's sorry the system messed up, but I'll have to wait my turn just like everyone else. At this point, I ask for a refund of the original reservation. Then she rushes off to find someone.

Low and behold, a man in his early 20s or so approaches and asks what the issue is. I explain, and he says "Oh, I'm sorry! No problem! Give me just one minute."

He returns in five minutes or so and apologizes. He's prepared a lane for us and added an additional two games on the house. He even made sure we are settled in and buys the first few pitchers for us.

Anyone else experienced similar in a restaurant or store? Men are better at customer service and management. Women just happen to have taken over because they obey and enjoy bitching at those they deem "beneath them."
