Hi guys, i hope you are all doing well.
Earlier this year i got good news that I overcome cancer. I left my job at a small but growing firm temporarily in august 2019 and was meant to return in late april/early may. However due to coronavirus it has not been possible. Since i am in Europe(UK), the virus has peaked and has been coming down. The issue now is in what capacity I should return, given i have recovered from cancer and my immune system is likely to not be at 100% capacity. Therefore i am more likely to be susceptible from virus than your average individual.
I asked my boss, if i could work at home and have minimal contact in the office for the sake of my health. He suggested i can work from home for 2 days of the week and I should go in office 3 days of the week as it feels it would be best, given i only have 5 months experience and haven’t been working for nearly a year.
What do you think i should do? I would go into work if i was totally fine with no preexisting condition, however i do, so I don’t want to risk my health. On the other hand, im an thinking of seeking the possibility of pushing my return back until it is safe to be back in office, i assume it will be in aug/sept.
Another issue is transport, the trains to work are likely crowded so its no really safe currently for me. I also don’t have a car.
Let me know your thoughts.
