I don't think being selfish and self-centered is a good approach to life. There's nothing wrong being charitable and helpful towards others. Mankind did not get where it is by being selfish loners. The thing about MGTOW though is not throwing pearls before swine and giving of ourselves to those who are not only ungrateful but despise us for it.

I think being selfish is good to a degree, we have to have some selfishness to survive but on the other hand humans have dominated the world in the way they have because we have been able to work together to build the modern world. I like your saying about not throwing pearls before swine, sort of sums it up nicely.
I see MGTOW as a good reminder that the world of relationships is not what we were taught as children and we need to see the world with our eyes wide open so we can make decisions that don't fuck us in the long run.
