In my opinion Sony, & Microsoft,, have been very lazy & none innovative over the years including this current generation & against players sharing the same console. As their whole intent is on selling more consoles, even if it increases the late adoption rate. What I mean by that is the fact that we have for example affordable 40-60 inch TVs but that our consoles can only launch one game to be played at a time.

Back in the 90s when I gamed I would on a 20inch tv play multi player with my friends & family. Now we have access to a 40-60 inch Tv, with all of the screen space we can only play one game at a time. When it wouldn't be a problem to divide the 40 inch into 20, or 60 inch into 30 inches each iwith more then enough of a screen to play each game individually. This issue hit me while running multi apps on my phone, & it made me realize that what can't I do this on the consoles.

Now I'm aware of the old Jaguar CPUs in the consoles but I truly believe that if the PS5 & Xbox 2 can't support launching 2 plus apps at the same time I wouldn't consider it next gen, just the same old better graphics. I'm starting to believe that consoles Peaked at the Xbox 360 & PS3 which were only missing support for streaming games. I mean gaming has become a solitary thing hobby in my honest opinion well besides the Nintendo Switch & PC.

For example in the 90s & early 200s you leave school you go play your games at a friend's house, while today you leave school & your friends run home to play with you online, as in no local multi player. I mean think about it if you & your friends tried to play fortnite & Apex legends together you would each need your own system their is no way to play it together on one system. I also believe this is the reason why more multi player games are disposable because you can only play it online with people you barely know instead of bonding together playing on one console.

Also as for late adoption due to the fact that you can't play together on one console, with your siblings you have to either buy another console or wait for your turn, when you have a 40-60 inch TV that would easily allow you to play together. Also you can't play to different games at the same time so you either wait for your turn or buy another console. Gaming just lacks a soul these days since it's soul was the memories you made with friends and family playing together not apart.
