I used to go out with my friends in my early twenties and seldom stick up for myself when we got harassed by sleazy men. Sometimes we were too scared, other times we just thought ignoring them would be the safest option, but most of all, we always assumed we would go out and come home and be as safe as possible, because the girls always looked after each other. 5 years later, I'm in the same club which had scarred me a few years back, when 2 boys we met at the club followed us home, and one of them eventually raped my friend that same night.
Last night, I went out to a club for the first time in a very long time with my husband and his two male cousins. We went outside for a cigarette, when a group of young men approached us for a chat. Everyone was getting along until we were talking about our ethnicity, when one of them said he was half Filo half Greek. Surprised by this, because my husband is Filipino and I come from a Turkish background, I showed some enthusiasm to this surprising mix. Unfortunately, this poor bloke did not know I was married, and he did not know that the handsome gentleman next to me was indeed my husband. So he proceeded to do what any other dirt bag would do and asked "do you wanna know what else is Greek?" as he motioned toward his dick.
Now, my husband and his cousin noticed, but as they know that I can most certainly murder this guy with words, they didn't step in. So, doing what I should have done every single time I had previously gotten grabbed or groped without consent in similar environments, I began to unleash on this unsuspecting dirt bag:
Me: "Oh, ok well first and foremost, I'd like to introduce you to my husband"
Dirtbag goes BRIGHT RED. Promptly starts apologising profusely. To my husband.
Me: "Secondly, why are you apologising to my husband and not me? You disrespected me first. But now that you find out that I'm married your automatic reaction is to completely ignore me but go on apologising to my husband? You owe me a f***ing apology. Not him. Me." I should mention now also that one of his friends from behind him said "he's married too". Dirtbag didn't hear his friends because I was still talking, but I heard him.
Him: *Looking super sheepish* I'm really sorry. I really am, you're right
Me: "THIRDLY, I want you to go home and kiss your poor wife on the forehead, and apologise to her for being a dickhead. I know she deserves better, and I'm guessing you don't realise it, but I'm sure you'd be pissed as hell if she was going around the city offering to show her pussy to other men. So I think you owe her the biggest apology, just for being the person you are"
Him: I'm really sorry. and yeah, you're right, she does deserve better.
He then went into the bar, and as he was walking in the door with his friend, I heard him say "bro how'd she know I have a misses?". My husband, his cousins, along with the dirtbags very own friends could not stop laughing.
Y'ALL I felt so good, so liberated, saying exactly what was on my mind and not feeling like I should hold back in case it starts trouble. And honestly it was so good to be surrounded by men who completely celebrated this. I know that if I had my girl friends with me, they would have jumped in and backed me up, but having the guys stand back and let me have a go at this guy, then celebrate it and high 5 me for it was so good.
All in all, rode that high for the rest of the night.
Thanks for reading and to all of my cis girls and guys, or trans girls and guys, or any one else who felt they were in danger of being sexually assaulted or anyone who has been sexually assaulted - I love you all. I hope we can always stick up for each other and look out for one another.
Edit: thanks for the silver kind redditor!

Should I remove it? I just figured it would be a good read if someone was looking for a bullshit outlandish story.
