Guys, I've been reading content on this subReddit for a while now. It has helped me remove the veil. My parents have been married for 24 years. They're both in their early 50s. A lot of people here do have a tendency to blame the woman. To be fair to my mother she worked tirelessly for my father and his extended family. She supported him in his turbulent phases. She was a self- abnegating lady.

As much as I love my father I hate to say that sometimes he did treat my mother unfairly. In my country it's acceptable to beat your wife. I've often seen him verbally abuse her. It sickened me to the core. In the past few years he became calmer but I could sense animosity in their ties. Finally my mother decided to seperate. I'm 22 years old. Most of my relatives think I didn't do enough to facilitate reconciliation. I probably didn't because I thought my intervention was not warranted. There's too much to process.
