Because women are status whores. Status matters more than anything else to them. Status doesn't mean shit to men. Men's attraction is based purely on physical signals of youth, fitness and fertility. Women look at all of a man's physical, occupational and personality traits and it all goes through her status filter. Male celebrities have godlike preselection to women. Conversely men are equally fine with attractive women in real life because the celebrity label means nothing to them.
