How did you let go of your ideals of love coming from a woman?

So I am 23 and in college. I had strong feelings for this girl who I thought that was an angel. She treated me like shit at times; however, I just liked her so much that I overlooked all that. After a year and a half of dealing with that sort of bullshit, she finally started treating me nicely. I thought that she started liking me because "she saw that I truly cared about her". What an idiot was I. She started treating me nicely because she found this guy who apparently she truly liked. That shit happened like a year ago and the wound hasn't healed all together. I liked this girl more than (the girl who I first kissed + the girl who was my girlfriend before I met her) combined. And she wasn't even super hot or anything, I just loved her for the person she was. I liked that she was smart, sort of silly at times, that she knew what she wanted in life and that I could have deep conversation with her. And the girl wasn't even my girlfriend. I just idealized everything of her from like the way she walked to the way she ate.

I know that I am such a simp. I just fucking cannot avoid it. I know that women cannot love men the same way we do. I know that feeling this way is stupid and ilogical, but somehow, I just cannot avoid it. I really loved her but she didn't give a shit. How can I toughen myself up? I hate being so sensitive :(
