Yup different culture, I don’t see it with southeast Asians but see it a lot with East Asians. I’ve seen cultures where the male friends hold hands and it’s not considered gay.

Is the guy in the back a simp too because he lets the woman walk in the pedestrian zone and risks himself on the street?

Yes he is a simp. Today, I'd walk on the sidewalk and let her on the side of the street. She's be walking by me, only if she is okay with that. Else, I am anyway walking on the sidewalk.

Additional insights: If a pregnant woman walks into the subway and I am sitting, well, I'd continue to enjoy being seated. I did'n't impregnate her for her condition. Not my woman, not my problem.
