If I understand correctly, MGTOW strive to attain internal validation as exposed to external. Meaning that if the neighbour gets a bigger car, bigger house and bigger wife we say: "good for him". Without jealousy.

We don't need to bring others down, belittle people or overly critice a colleague in order to feel good about ourselves.

Of course, a MGTOW can have a variety of hobbies which he enjoys but it is not about 'catching a bigger fish than Peter' - it is about enjoying the experience.
