I am surprised how there is no "look at me I'm smart" guy commenting here about how "smart men dont get married to the wrong women".

Where are they?

Edit : well, glad to see I am not disappointed.

Eh, to be fair, smart men sometimes do dumb things.

Men who do not know any better get married. There is a difference between knowledge and intelligence.

I like how the old guy stammers for a split-second at the end. Almost as if his blue-pill brain.exe stopped working and went into overdrive trying to work out that there is another way to live your life.

Smart men don't get married to the wrong women.

[–]Patricijaobjectdude5 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (34 children) | Copy Link

  1. How do you know what's a wrong woman and what's a right woman? Especially with the way the law is set up today?
  2. Is there a right woman?
  3. If there is, why should I bother looking for her in the vast ocean of thotery?

[+]Davis2Nguyen -7 points-6 points-5 points 7 years ago (33 children) | Copy Link

  1. Entirely your choice to decide who is right or wrong. Who may be right in my eyes may be wrong in your eyes and vice versa. Not every woman is trying to fuck you over and ruin your life. Key thing is compatibility and love between you two.

  2. Possibly.

  3. She's probably in another ocean fam. Don't go AWALT mode.

[–]Patricijaobjectdude2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

It's not a matter of "she will or won't", it's a matter of "she could." It's no different to me point a loaded gun to your head and telling you that I'm not going to pull the trigger. It's not me that's the problem, it's the fucking gun to your head.

Furthermore, how the hell do you judge what's "the right woman"?

You can look at a girl and instantly know if she's hot or not. You can't take a second glance and go "Woah, she wouldn't be the right one, thank god I took a second glance so I'd know ahead of time."

[–]Davis2Nguyen -3 points-2 points-1 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I'm not you. The only person in the end, who can judge and decide who "the right woman", is you. Which for you could be none because compatibility issues.

This isn't just for women you're trying to date and/or marry. This applies for people in general:

You have to actually talk and get to know people to find out who they are inside because looking at someone and their superficial traits (aka WHAT they are: example attractive, currently a student, rich) goes so far.

You can't have black and white thinking.

[–]Patricijaobjectdude1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

(To the mgtow that are reading this thread;) See this is why you don't argue with women. They focus on abstract emotional stuff like this and simultaneously try to distract you from your core argument.

What the fuck is the point of wasting your time, energy, resources to look for "the one" in a sea full of women who wish to abuse, use, manipulate and destroy your life?

"Not all women are like that" assuming that's true, again, my argument still stands; SHE COULD. It's not a matter of me wanting to pull the trigger to your head or not, the thing that keeps you away is the gun itself, not me. If every guy pointed a gun at a woman, some guys would of course say "I'm not like that", yes but you still have a god damned gun pointed at me.

What's the point in looking for a guy who will point a gun at you but not pull the trigger, especially when he could?

What is the point of talking to the opposite sex and getting to know them, taking a huge risk like that? For what?

What does a woman offer a man that a man can't get it himself? Sex, right? Nope. We now have sex dolls and they're only getting better and more advanced by the day. There is 0 intensive for a man to be with a woman and a fuck ton of reasons to avoid them.

You might hate the fact that more and more guys are avoiding you because you could pull the trigger, you might genuinely not want to pull the trigger, but looking for you is not worth it.

[–]Davis2Nguyen 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm not a woman...

And the gun pointing thing is a dumb analogy at best considering not everyone is trying to abuse you can make you their slave. What the fuck kind of thinking is that? It's both a hasty generalization and a slippery slope.

[–]Patricijaobjectdude0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm not a woman...

You have my condolences.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (27 children) | Copy Link

Not every woman is trying to fuck you over and ruin your life. However, when the cops show up, every woman will lie in order to stay out of jail. If that means throwing you under the bus, believe it will happen.

[–]Davis2Nguyen -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (26 children) | Copy Link

This is a strawman right here but I'll play ball.

In this scenario alone, we assume something happened in which the wife is at fault and not the husband. Plus there are conflicting accusations by both parties.

You're acting as if women will be believed every time. They still have to present evidence and you can still defend yourself by way of an attorney. You're innocent until proven guilty so wouldn't be hard to have evidence that proves the wife wrong.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (25 children) | Copy Link

You're acting as if women will be believed every time. They still have to present evidence and you can still defend yourself by way of an attorney.

I'm not saying that they will be believed. I'm saying that they will say whatever is convenient that keeps them out of jail. If it's her word against yours, you will be able to present your evidence to the judge when your court date arrives. Only if you have video which directly refutes her side of the story, will you not need to have a court appearance.

[–]Davis2Nguyen -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (24 children) | Copy Link

And assuming you're the husband, you'll do too. Whether you're at fault or not. Main point, you can make and/or dispute accusations.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link

The Duluth model doesn't care if the woman lies and you dispute the lie. That's what court appearances are for. Only if you have video that directly refutes the woman's lie, will you not go to jail. Not every woman is trying to fuck you over, but when the cops show up, there is an entire legal framework setup to support her version of events regardless if it's the truth and regardless if you dispute it without evidence.

[–]Davis2Nguyen 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link

Even if I take your word for it, it's still gonna be rare. As in, it's not gonna happen in every marriage. About 40-50% of all marriages end in divorce. So not even over half. https://www.apa.org/topics/divorce/

Therefore back to the original point, you find the right woman for you and your chances of your marriage ending in failure for you are slim to none. Even then you can go to couples therapy. According to a 2017 article, couples therapy via EFT is 75% effective. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/in-it-together/201712/couples-therapy-does-it-really-work

So there's no guarantees for a successful marriage, as in life there are barely any guarantees of any kind at all. However you at least have to actually give marriage a chance in order for a successful marriage.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link

About 40-50% of all marriages end in divorce.

Ok, let's say roughly half of all marriages end in divorce... How many of that roughly 50% of marriages are people who have been married multiple times? Do you think that affects the percentage as a whole or is this a "sunny side up" statistic?

you find the right woman for you and your chances of your marriage ending in failure for you are slim to none

I laugh every single time I read this argument, which is quite often. The problem is that women are incredibly good at deception. I would guess that 99% of the roughly half of all divorces, believed that they had found the right spouse for them. In the men's case, they believed she was the right ONE. In the women's case, he was the right ONE NOW.

[–]Davis2Nguyen1 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Please by all means tell me your secret to getting mind reading powers. Sarcasm aside, it's not finding who you think is the right one but finding who is actually the right one. Those statistics are pretty crude but they give you a rough idea.

[–][deleted]1 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Please tell me your secret for getting mind reading powers. Your argument assumes that every marriage to the "actually right" spouse ends when both parties die of old age with a large family and legacy behind them. No fault divorces are never initiated by people who were "actually right" for each other but grew apart over time? How many times should you make the mind reading mistake? Until you are destitute or until you find the actually right one?

[–]Davis2Nguyen1 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Did I not say there are no guarantees earlier? A successful marriage is simply if both parties were happy with each other until the very end. That very end being one or both of them dies at any time. You don't need to have kids or leave a legacy. There is no assuming anything here. Neither of us know what happens or will happen in every single marriage.

[–][deleted]1 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

How many times should you make the mind reading mistake? Until you are destitute or until you find the actually right one?

[–]Davis2Nguyen1 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

What are you talking about?

[–][deleted]1 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

How many times should you marry the "actually right" one, because you've read her mind and know that she's in it for richer and poorer. Assuming that mind-reading isn't real and that half of all marriages end in divorce. Should you make that mistake as many times as is necessary or until you are destitute? Perhaps both. I'm interested in your answer.

[–]Davis2Nguyen1 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I mean in my case: if my first marriage fails and ends in divorce, I probably would be unlikely to remarry since I have little to no confidence at that point. No telling what I'd do in the future. This is just 19 year old me speaking. I'd give marriage a chance if circumstances allow me to do so and also if I want to.

If you want to play it safe knowing the risks and don't want to marry at all it's fine. But don't go and claim that men who decide to marry are dumb. Marriage is in fact a risk but in my view, a risk worth taking provided I already had a great long term relationship with my girlfriend and I'm confident. In fact, non-arranged marriages are often from couples who were happy with each other for a long time before finally deciding to take that next step.

[–][deleted]1 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Smart men don't get married. Why pay to feed and take care of a cow, when all you want is the milk?

[–]Davis2Nguyen1 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Uh in almost all cases men don't marry women for their bodies...

[–][deleted]1 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Not solely for their bodies, no. In addition, some men are masochists. They love the idea of waking up to a landwhale and having her suffocate him on top. Those are not what I would consider smart men. They might be above average in intelligence, but they have let their weaker nature prevail.

[–]Davis2Nguyen1 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Every men getting married is either a masochist or just wants to use his wife for sex. Sound logic.

[–][deleted]1 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Every man getting married believes she is the "actually right" one, despite the overwhelming statistical evidence to the contrary. Also sound logic. Smart men don't get married. There is enough hardship in this world to deal with without having a woman bending you to her will.

[–]Davis2Nguyen1 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

And every woman believes the man she's marrying is the right one. And guess what? They often could both be right and love each other through the good and bad times. One side doesn't need to bend the other to their will.

[–][deleted]1 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

One side doesn't need to bend the other to their will.

Oh you sweet summer child. I don't usually believe when people post their age online, but in your case, I make an exception.

[–]Davis2Nguyen1 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Ad hominem.

[–][deleted]1 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

If you believe that is an ad hominem, then you really do not understand the definition of the term marriage. It is a contract that grants you certain rights and RESPONSIBILITIES. If you think you aren't being bent to someone's will in marriage, it's because you're only 19 and have never been married.

[–]Davis2Nguyen1 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

And have you? How do you know what marriage is like then?

[–][deleted]1 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I have indeed. I do not recommend making my mistake.

[–]Davis2Nguyen1 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

There is name for that response: Post hoc ergo propter hoc.

For example: "I threw a dart at the target and missed the target. Therefore, whenever one throws a dart at the target, you always miss the target."

[–][deleted]1 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You are more than welcome to make my mistake. Perhaps you will, on your very first attempt, be successful and die a married man. I wish you the best of luck in this endeavor. You should probably post this argument elsewhere, because posting here, is the opposite of preaching to the choir. Once you've made this mistake multiple times and have become destitute because of your baser desires, we'll still welcome your posts. No doubt they will be littered with more red pills for us to ingest gleefully at your expense.

[–]Davis2Nguyen2 points 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I mean hey sometimes I like to challenge claims I disagree with and have a conversation. You did just that with me.
