There has always been older generations of Marines who heckle younger Marines for serving in a "softer" Marine Corps. Its almost a time honored tradition to belittle a prior generation of Marines with their new world ways.

"Oh yeah? You think thats hard? We used to drop the butts of our rifles onto our chins from an arm's length away while lying on our backs to toughen ourselves up!".

"PFfff... Back in my day, we qualified on the rifle range with iron sights. There was none of this "ACOG" shit.".

"Oh, you think you're being hazed? We used to force our Boot Jr. Marines to paint their dicks in edge dressing before we kicked them down a flight of stairs in barrels at the barracks!".

I knew the Marine Corps I served in from 2006 to 2011 was likely the softest version of the Marine Corps to date and I honestly thought I would never be able to say that MY Marine Corps would be tougher than any to come.

So now I can "Oh yeah?!" any more Jr. Marine with, "Oh, well at least I didn't have to trAIN ALONG SIDE BITCHES!!!".

I absolutely CANNOT fathom how they are going to pull this shit off. Marine Corps bootcamp , at least on the male side, while being relatively easier than prior generations, is still quite an eye opening mind fuck. It really is by no means easy. It is considerably more psychologically challenging than all basic training of all other branches and is quite physically grueling. The female side of MCRD Parris Island is quite demanding too, I'm sure, but it is the separation of the genders in basic training that makes the Marines the superior force that it is. But I want to emphasize the psychological aspect of it. Marine Corps Boot Camp consists of heavy doses of humiliation, shaming, belittling and degradation of recruits as a means of breaking them down and building them back up. Our Basic training isn't like the Army's at all. Its a fucking circus of hazing. But this can be a good thing in terms of male bonding and that is one BIG reason why the Marine Corps excels above other services in terms of performance. The Male bonding. It really is a Fraternity. The Marine Corps gains much of its strength by separating the genders in basic training. Male Marines aren't particularly fond of female Marines and their propensity to be promoted quickly simply for being female and sucking and fucking themselves into superior ranks over their male counterparts after basic training.

The aspect of this whole new experiment that has me worried is the fact that while you as a male recruit are being humiliated and belittled in boot camp, you are at least free from being humiliated in front of a large group of females. If I had been humiliated the way I was in bootcamp at eighteen years old, in front a bunch of females, who I am going to maybe have to work with later, I would have kinda lost my shit. I would have been devastated. I would have been very demoralized.

So the Marine Corps is either going to soften up their basic training tactics in the psychological department and create Marines who are less likely to function under fire or they are going to stay the course with the training plan and traumatize an entire generation of young men (and likely the girls too) and create who knows how many service related suicides and fuckery in the aftermath of the experiment.

I mean, is this really worth sacrificing the combat effectiveness and morale of our Nation's premier fighting force?

This is some serious MK Ultra type shit and our kids are the lab rats here.
