These people are destroying every single one of my hobbies (open source programming, gaming, modding, etc), aggressively attack and disrespect anyone who criticizes their actions and then we get banned for speaking out against them without even relying on ad hominem (unlike them).
Why weren't they banned aswell? They were the ones who started the whole debate (you can check it out for yourself from the linked thread) and they started it by insulting others.
I don't give a shit about Reddit and their SJW ways, but I just made this throwaway account with a temporary email because I feel the need to share that every single big tech and AAA gaming corporation is compromised. There is no fuckin hope left.

Then we play the old games. We watch the old shows and movies. We refuse to fund them and they go broke as we keep seeing happen recently (Get woke go broke). Their numbers are dramatically less than what is shown to the public and resistance is growing.
You don't notice quite how far we've regressed until you watch a show from the 70s 80s or 90s and see the sorts of things they could easily get away with back then, which would be unacceptable today. I watched one episode of Archie Bunker and he said "Fag Fireman" and called a drag queen a "Gender Impersonator" all in one episode. Their tyranny is slow and creeping.

Latest "new" movie I'd watched was The Dark Knight (over a decade ago) and I've sticked to older movies even before SJWs took over Hollywood completely (12 Angry Men being one of my favorites movies of all time).
My latest Steam purchase was from 2017, and my "newest" released game purchase was from 2016 (Shadow Warrior 2), which was bought in that 2017 purchase.

I haven't bought anything on Steam since 2017 due to abusive local store pricing by greedy publishers, terribly ported japanese games, Denuvo/DRM, SJW propaganda and Valve/Steam being your average shitty corporation.
I also haven't added money to my Steam wallet for years.
So yeah, I don't buy their shit, but sometimes we need to call out their bullshit or they will continue to destroy everything we like.
Mind you, I merely pointed out their use of ad hominem/shaming towards those showing criticism about the game.

The fediverse is certainly the right way, but that still doesn't prevent fediverse softwares from censoring (ala what Mastodon did to Gab).
CryEngine has a terrible licensing for smaller/indie studios though. That is why so feel of them use the CryEngine (I can only think of KC:D in recent years and they had a huge kickstart to pay for the license). Unity was also pulling some real scumbag tricks in recent years and the Unreal Engine still gives royalties to a big tech once you make enough money with your game.
As for indie studios, unfortunately there are two issues.
The first being that it's hard to make a quality modern game without capital/skilled personnel. Look at M&B Bannerlord production time, and they aren't that small anymore, thanks to their Warband sales. I am a programmer myself, and I have never worked into a game outside of modding because I simply do not have any graphical design talent.
The second is that indies are just as woke as AAA corporations, you can clearly see that from indies making big bucks and turning into even worse versions of AAA corporations. When I'd learned about the trans rights flag in A Hat in Time (a childrens game) I was speechless.

You assume that every normie is capable of forking and altering code, which is certainly not reality.
Could you point me to an indie game with the same level of quality of a well funded game (3D modern graphics, well developed gameplay, well written storyline, not multiplayer only ala Mordhau, Killing Floor, etc)?
I am aware that today's AAA games are terrible, but that doesn't make it any easier to develop AAA-level games without capital. Even the ones that show up either take ages (and generally never get released) and/or still use AAA assets (Enderal for Skyrim as one example).
As for the market, you assume everyone buying games are like us, who won't pay for shit.
Most of the gaming market is oversaturated with normies, who will pay for anything (just check Steam's top sold games here and there).
How do you think things like lootboxes, microtransactions, DLCs, DRMs, selling digital copies for the same or higher price than physical copies and wokeness got so dominant?

The problem with normies using forked and deployed instances is that publisher platforms (ala GooglePlay and F-Droid will continue to ban and censor things at their own discretion).
I'd already mentioned KC:D before and how much money they managed to gather through Kickstarter. This is a relatively rare example, as they managed to gather AAA-level fundings through Kickstarter (which only a select few projects managed, generally relying on the success of their "spiritual" predecessor).
The first The Witcher game could be considered indie-ish, but we must remind that CD Projekt was already an established company in Poland trying to expand with their newly founded gaming studio, CD Projekt Red.
Even then, the game had many issues. Using the pretty old Aurora Engine, tons of repeated assets (models, textures, maps, etc) and one of the buggiest games at the time (which prompted them to release an Enhanced Edition, which was still very buggy).
As for 2 and 3, they were already into AAA territory, with The Witcher 2 being mostly an interactive movie demonstrating their new engine (there is a The Witcher 2 The Movie on SusanTube with 6+ hours of just cutscenes).
The Witcher 3 while being AAA, felt very boring to me (I never cared to finish it). I'd spent far more hours modding and developing tools for it than actually playing the game. Combine that with the fact CD Projekt Red went back on their words and never actually released proper modding tools, leaving the game in a modding limbo with the limited community developed tools.
Cyberpunk is certainly an AAA game (which has been in development for half a decade), CD Projekt is now a big european company (with both GOG and CDPR growing exponentially). Unfortunately with that comes wokeness too.
Remember the GOG incident last year with SJWs? The newly censored Gwent card (because it had naked dead women in it) and the talks of trans people in Cyberpunk? Yeah... I am not holding my breath.
Superhot is still very indie to me and it still looks like a demo. I don't care about VRs though.
Outlast, I don't know anything about the studio that developed it, so I'll give it to you. I never bothered to play it, I just watched a full let's play of the game. There is not much in terms of gameplay though, which is why I decided to watch it instead of playing.
Thank you for the Cloudfare heads up, I didn't yet know they had done that. I've been using 1.1.1.1 for a while now, I'll certainly stop using it. Thanks again.
PS: Why are you using Bing? M$ is as woke as Google. Not to mention how much cancer they and their crapware DirectX has been to the gaming industry. We could've been playing 24/7 on native Linux with OpenGL/Vulkan at this point if it wasn't for their dirty practices.
