Generally speaking: Yes. The world isn't black and white though and I ain't too. I am also not a US-citizen, but from Europe and the discussion about that issue is held a lot less emotional here. I wouldn't come up with the idea to call a woman who practiced abortion a murderer.

It just makes me sad, because I do not regard a foetus as something equivalent to an appendix, which should just be removed out of inconvenience.

I'd say that not enough effort is invested into providing alternatives and perspectives for women who do not want or cannot raise a child. Although there are much too many programs which aim specifically at helping women (while there are no equivalents for men), this is one of those I'd regard being reasonable.

That would also help to prevent those murders that the OP adresses.
